A Message From Our Special Education Instructional Supervisor
“Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way.”
The Special Education department ensures that every student learns and progresses.
We do this by effectively supporting the SEITs (Special Education Itinerant Teachers).
Monthly professional development workshops are offered to our therapists and these present various supportive topics.
The topics include:
- Addressing skills through play
- Actively engaging students
- Social and emotional support for young children, etc.
In this month’s interactive workshop…
We talked about the importance of play. We also discussed how to maximize the experience by addressing the students’ goals.
Our SEIT providers are regularly observed by supervisors. This ensures that they are using learned information and strategies throughout the session. The observations support the therapists so they can best help your child. Working together and supporting each other is important because it leads to success and progress in performance.
Stay tuned for June’s workshop on Early Reading Skills!
