My Child’s Teacher Is Amazing! How to Thank Her

Teachers have one of the hardest, yet least appreciated jobs out there. They spend more time with kids than their own parents do and help mold them into the future leaders of our world. With classrooms of dozens of kids at a time, it’s miraculous how much attention and care teachers are able to put into educating our youth from nursery school and onward to higher education. They teach not only the basics of a well-rounded education, but social, moral, and developmental skills that carry on for years to come.

Over her lifetime, your child will have many teachers. Some will be more dynamic than others, some more memorable, some who “click” better with your child, and those who won’t make much of an impression at all. But these wonderful individuals deserve undeniable praise and recognition, not only from the community as a whole, but from each and every one of us, on a personal level.

Does your child’s teacher impress you with the work they’ve done so far this year? Or was there a teacher from a past year that you wish you’d let know just how much they meant to you and your child? Here are some ways to thank her for a job beyond well done!

A Framed Class Photo

Each year, the kids come and go for the teacher, so help her remember your child’s class by framing the yearly class photo in a decorative frame she can hang in the classroom, in her office, or at home. If you want to get a frame that’s extra special, see if the other parents of the kids in the class want to chip in so you can buy something you may not be able to afford solo. She’ll surely appreciate the thought and the priceless memento she can now treasure for years to come.

A Spa Day

Teachers are on their feet for much of the day and don’t get a moment’s rest with so many kids to teach and watch after day in and day out. After a long week of school, any teacher could use a little primping and pampering. Get her a modest gift certificate to a local nail salon or spa so she can relax and unwind. She deserves to get all the kinks out and have some time alone – in a kid-free environment!

A Letter to the Principal

If your child’s teacher was truly remarkable, the school principal ought to know. Write the principal a letter as to what this teacher has done to really stand out and how she made a difference in your child’s life. Her attention to detail, devoted care, and teaching skills should not go unnoticed by her peers and school staff. A good word can make a difference in her career path as well as how she’s seen by those with whom she works with regularly. Mostly, if she’s made aware of your A+ review, all her hard work will feel so much more worth it and truly appreciated.

Do you have a teacher that really stood out in the eyes of your child? Did you let her know what an impact she made or thanked her in a unique way? We’d love to hear your story.
