4 Family Activities Perfect for Spring

Spring is in full swing! What a joyous time of year when the flowers bloom and the sky is blue. As the days continue to get warmer, make the most of the weather with outdoor activities everyone will enjoy.

These 4 family activities are wonderful ways to ring in spring! You and your children will remember this family time fondly.

Plant Flowers

Create your own beautiful bouquets from flowers you’ve grown in the garden. If you don’t have your own yard to do this, there are many types of flowers you can grow right on the windowsill.

This engaging activity teaches children to take care of living things and appreciate nature.

Try growing herbs too. You can use them to enhance the flavor of your food.

Early Evening Strolls

Before (or after) dinner, take a short walk with the family and enjoy the sky as the sun begins to set. This quality family time will bring you closer together as you share updates from the day and discuss what’s to come.

You’ll also get in some healthy exercise which is important for overall health. Make it a habit!

Picnicking

Make weekend meals a special occasion by preparing a picnic basket. Head to your local park or set up your mini picnic right in your own backyard. Sandwiches and salads are simple and satisfying.

Let the kids help prepare the picnic basket. You can bake cookies in the morning or put together a homemade trail mix to have for snacks after lunch.

Don’t forget the napkins, paper plates, and cutlery. Drinks too!

Explore the Great Outdoors

Do you live near a hiking trail, national park, or by the ocean? Perhaps you’re in a big city with amazing architecture, museums, and landmarks. Become a “tourist” right in your hometown. You’ll be amazed by what you’ve been missing out on!

Each weekend, plan a different route and explore some more! Enjoy a meal at a family-friendly local restaurant.

What do you do with your family in the springtime? We’d love to read your ideas and try them with our families.
