Small Acts of Kindness Go a Long Way

It’s cool to be kind!

What may seem small can make a world of difference in someone’s day.

Grand gestures aren’t the only way to make an impact. Kindness has no boundaries, and the bits and pieces add up. Teach your children to treat others as they’d like to be treated, and we will see more smiles all around. Here’s what they can do with your guidance.

Sharing with Others

A doll or toy, a snack, or a good story are perfect for sharing. It doesn’t take much to show someone you care. If your child doesn’t have something to share, spending time with a friend is just as impactful. Friendship is the ultimate example of sharing!

Honesty is the Best Policy

Being open and honest is how we show others that we value their friendship. This doesn’t mean we have to blurt out every thought. Be mindful of others’ feelings, but don’t be fake.

Compliment Someone

When you notice something you like about someone, be it their sense of style or their “can-do” attitude, tell them! Why keep those compliments inside when you can make someone else feel special?

Give Back

Lending a helping hand is a beautiful way to spread kindness. Encourage volunteering and mentoring. Your child can donate food or clothing, spend time with the elderly, or offer to help a neighbor with age-appropriate chores.

Offer Comfort

Words and actions can comfort those in need of a pick-me-up or some positive energy. Your child’s empathy and compassion can go a long way. When a friend is feeling down, they can lift their spirits by offering a shoulder to lean on.

What do you teach your kids about kindness?
