SEIT Department Update – Special Education

Here’s an interesting update from the Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) Department:

Amongst the many things going on in the SEIT department, is a monthly workshop for the staff.
This month’s workshop was:

Addressing Behavioral Needs of Individual Students
Date: 2/28/22 6:30pm-8:30pm
This workshop addressed the various behavioral issues which children/students
display in school and with other students, the reasons for these behaviors, and how
staff/adults can best interact with students when they lose focus or engage in various
disruptive behaviors.
Handouts were distributed to participants, and there was time
for provider questions regarding individual issues that are currently occurring in the classroom.
The Special Education department has monthly workshops to continue their education. Therapists are always eager to learn new techniques and strategies that they can use to work with children with special needs. The methods can also be applied in classroom settings to benefit other children in the classroom.
All My Children also has a group chat where they support one another by sharing activities, articles, or any questions they may have. AMC therapists work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, parents, and administrators. They work as a TEAM for great achievements in helping the children meet their IEP goals!
