Rolling Out the Creative Curriculum: A Simple Overview
This year, we’re excited to introduce the Creative Curriculum across all our classrooms. The Creative Curriculum is a research-based, comprehensive program that supports teachers in creating a rich, nurturing environment where children can thrive. Here’s a simple breakdown of what it means for our schools:
Child-Centered Learning: The Creative Curriculum emphasizes learning through play and exploration. Children will be encouraged to follow their interests, leading to deeper engagement and understanding.
Focus on Social-Emotional Development: Alongside academic skills, the curriculum prioritizes social-emotional growth. Children will practice sharing, taking turns, and expressing their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
Hands-On Activities: Expect more hands-on projects and activities that help children connect what they’re learning to the real world. This approach not only makes learning fun but also helps children retain information better.
Teacher Guidance: Our teachers will guide children’s learning experiences by setting up interesting and interactive learning stations, asking open-ended questions, and encouraging curiosity.
Parental Involvement: We believe in a strong partnership with parents. You’ll receive updates on what your child is learning and ways to extend that learning at home.
