Monthly Provider Spotlights – FCC
Kama Diagouraga
Here we see Kama Diagouraga interacting with her newly enrolled children. She is implementing the LPC Month 6 on “Building.” Kama stated that the children were working on counting and building using their fine motor skills to create a community of multi-colored buildings. This is a creative way to implement different dimensions within the activities and lesson plans.
The children are using colors, numbers, counting, and descriptive language. Kama is always interacting on the floor with the children. She uses eye level conversations during the play-based activities.
Elizabeth Gomez
In the below pictures we see the children interacting in group activity, singing songs after “Building” a community together with manipulatives. Elizabeth Gomez used ideas from the LPC Month 6 – “Building.”
This is a creative way to implement different dimensions within the activities and lesson plans such as using shapes, colors, numbers, counting and descriptive language, and songs.
Elizabeth purchased Community activities for each of her 5 daycares. She uses her imagination by dressing the children in dramatic play costumes, and the children were pretending to be “community workers.” They were “building” communities and farms.
Elizabeth always finds creative ways to purchase materials for all of her daycares which correlates with the LPC.
Elizabeth and her staff also sing songs and interact with the children and follow their lead. They often sing bilingual songs and speak different languages.
