Five Ways to Dress Warmer This Winter
Get ready for winter!
It may not be too cold out yet, but it’s getting there. Now is the time of year when bundling up to go outside is a must. Here are five ways for you and the kids to stay nice and toasty as the temperature drops. Enjoy the season without shivering!
Layer Your Clothing
One shirt just won’t cut it on those super cold days. Layering a few articles of clothing will hold in the heat. Wear a T-shirt, turtleneck, or tank top under a sweater or sweatshirt. Better yet, go for thermals. You can wear a pair under your pants too. When you get too warm once you are indoors, remove your sweater and you’ll still be stylish.
Wear a Winter Hat
A winter hat will make a big difference in keeping you warm, particularly when you’re outside. Get one that’s thick, snug, and stays put, even on the windiest of days. There are so many cute styles, so you can be fashionable and feel comfortable at the same time. Don’t worry about messing up your hair!
Second Pair of Socks
Slip on two pairs of socks for feet that won’t freeze. The first pair you layer could be thinner, so your shoes don’t feel too tight. The extra pair protects your feet from the cold, adding another barrier from the brisk weather. Alternatively, you can get some super thick ski socks to wear on those below zero days.
Rugged Winter Shoes or Boots
You’ll want to wear durable shoes when there’s snow on the ground. Flimsy materials and soles will leave you wet and uncomfortable all day. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to find winter shoes and boots that are long-lasting and sturdy. Traction on the soles is a must too, so you don’t slip on the ice.
Add the Extras
Remember to also wear a scarf, gloves or mittens, earmuffs, even leg warmers on the coldest of days. Any exposed skin will be extra-sensitive to the cold. You can remove these winter accessories once you get inside, and they’re worth the extra minute it takes to dress appropriately.
