AMC Utica Ave. – Rules and Self-Regulation Skills

All My Children Utica Ave. is effectively implementing the tools of autonomy to support children’s self regulation.

Our very creative and dedicated director, Tracy, created a sensory bin. She placed it in the cozy area for children to use as a strategy to calm themselves or help make helpful choices. Using these sensory items is truly helpful. These lessons are part of the AMC skill-building curriculum.

Tracy also created an expectation chart, or rule chart, similar to the one below. She stated that after she created this chart the children were referring to the rule chart. They also reminded the other children of the rules.
