AMC Rego Park – Skill-Building

The children at Rego Park AMC are working on developing cognitive and emotional skills.

Literacy: The children are focusing on reaching literacy goals. See them reading together in their class library. One child is working on his reading comprehension skills on the “Brown Bear” story board.

The children are working on their pre-writing skills. They are using playdough to form the letters of their names and a marker to practice writing.

Math: The children use leaves to match the written number and are counting the unifix cubes together. This helps them work on their one-to-one correspondence skills.

Social-Emotional: While building at the block center, the students develop many social emotional and creative thinking skills. They are working together to build the structure.

Science: Science is always exciting! The children predict what will happen with the colorful water, once placed in the freezer and outdoors. Enjoy seeing them all in action in the photos below.

We did lots of activities at AMC Rego Park. The lessons are exciting and fun for the students.
