5 Ways to Bring Out Your Child’s Courage
Is your child fearless or afraid? They probably fall somewhere along the spectrum. Are we born with bravery, or does it come with experience? Either way, with your encouragement, your child with step up to the level they’re comfortable with and continue to grow.
Give your child the support they need to shine.
Here are 5 tips you can count on.
Teach By Example
Your child learns from your actions and behaviors. Put on a brave face when you have obstacles to overcome. Your persistence is a positive trait your child can emulate.
Comfort
Let your child know you’re backing them up. When they know you’ve put your faith in their capacity to conquer something big or small, the outcome is sure to be beneficial.
Assist
A helping hand will give your child a boost to be even better. Sometimes it takes a parent to pass along the power. Once you see that your child can do it alone, step back and enjoy their spirit.
Determination
Explain to your child that not everything goes smoothly the first time around. It takes endurance to excel. It’s OK to mess up. Failure isn’t the end, it’s part of the learning process.
Be Their Cheerleader
Praise your child for the steps they’ve taken already and root them on for what’s next.
