Keeping Kids Active

Kids who prefer channel surfing to sports can find themselves stuck in a rut and sluggish.

Too many video games, smart devices, and so on have created a generation of kids who are far less active than decades’ past. Inactivity can lead to obesity and other health problems, both physical and mental.

As parents, it is our obligation to be sure our kids are well-rounded and healthy. Part of a healthy lifestyle is getting adequate exercise, so kids who “veg out” on the couch for hours are missing out on important activity their bodies need.

If you need some ideas to get your kids off the screen and out in the sunshine, here are some fun ways to get moving. Once they realize that being active can be more enjoyable than staring at a screen, they’ll be more inclined to ditch the technology and play the “old fashioned” way.
