❄️ Goodbye November, Hello December!
As we say goodbye to November, we welcome a new month filled with warmth and connection. This month, we focus on sharing and giving in December. These values help children learn kindness, cooperation, and empathy.
Sharing and giving happen in small moments. Children offer a toy, help a friend, or use gentle words during play. Each moment builds confidence and teaches children how to care for others. Over time, these simple acts help children understand that giving brings joy to everyone.
💡 Why Sharing & Giving Matter in Early Childhood
Sharing is a key part of getting along with others. It helps children make friends, take turns, and understand fairness. For example, when children wait for a toy or offer help during play, they build important social–emotional skills. As a result, they learn patience and empathy.
Children improve with practice. However, they may still need guidance, praise, and clear expectations. When we support them, they learn that giving and sharing can make play more fun and strengthen relationships.
We were also grateful for two special visitors this past month.
✨ Deputy Chancellor Simone Hawkins visited our Utica location. She spent time with our staff and children and enjoyed seeing our classrooms in action.
✨ Deputy Chief of Staff Nathaniel Hezekiah visited our Sutphin center, connecting with our team and observing the joyful learning taking place.
Their support highlights the importance of early childhood education and the incredible work our teachers do every day.
