Building Our Community: Trip to the Firehouse

As part of our “Building Our Community” unit in the Creative Curriculum, some of our classrooms took an exciting trip to a local firehouse! This visit provided our children with a firsthand experience of meeting real-life community helpers—the brave firefighters who keep us safe every day. During the visit, the children learned about fire safety, explored the fire trucks, and got to see the tools that firefighters use in emergencies.

This trip aligns perfectly with the goals of the Creative Curriculum, which emphasizes experiential learning and the importance of understanding the roles of community members. By visiting the firehouse, our children are able to connect what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and respect for those who help keep our community strong and safe.
