Special Education Itinerant Teacher Department Message
From The SEIT Department
This time of the year is crucial for our SEIT department. The Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) department prepares reports to determine placements for educational services for our students with disabilities who will be entering kindergarten.
The SEITs play a vital role in the educational journey of our students with disabilities. They work closely with teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure each student receives the necessary support and accommodations to thrive in their education.
During this critical period, our SEITs diligently collect data, observe students in their current educational settings, and collaborate with teachers to develop comprehensive reports. These reports outline the specific learning goals, strengths, challenges, and recommended services for each student that will guide their educational journey as they transition to kindergarten.
The collaboration between SEITs, teachers, parents, and related service providers is crucial in ensuring that the placement recommendations accurately reflect the unique needs of our students with disabilities. SEIT’s valuable insights and expertise will provide the foundation for developing effective educational plans that support the individual needs of each student.
Our SEIT department is committed to ensuring that the transition to kindergarten is seamless and successful for our students with disabilities. Workshops for parents were set up to provide essential information on the registration process and how they should prepare for their child’s “Turning 5” meetings.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the teachers, parents, and related service providers who have been actively involved in this process. Their dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to provide the best possible educational opportunities for our students.
