Easy Home Clean Up Tips

Keeping your home clean and tidy is always a chore and can be especially difficult when you have little ones who need to be tended to (and are probably making new messes constantly). Nobody wants to live in a dirty home and most of us don’t take much enjoyment in spending hours each day cleaning it. Here are some easy home clean up tips to keep things neat and sparkly that don’t take much time to complete. Even the kids can lend a helping hand.

Sort Laundry as It Piles Up

When laundry day comes around, much of the tedious time is spent separating and sorting. Eliminate this time waster by sorting as the laundry collects. Create separate bins or hampers for whites, colors, and clothing that must me hand washed or taken to the dry cleaners. This way, each family member can help pre-sort as they toss their dirty clothing into the appropriate container. You will save time by having the clothing sorted come laundry day and you’ll also have a better idea how much you have to wash.

Let Tile Cleaners Sit a While Before Scrubbing

Spray tile cleaners and bleaches are convenient ways to get your tub and bathroom tiles sparkly. Most people give the surface areas a spritz and immediately start scrubbing. Doing so will make the cleanup time take much longer than necessary. Let the product sit on the tiles for about 15 minutes then get to work. You will find that much of the mildew, buildup, and gunk will have already disappeared and whatever’s left will come off much more easily. Some bleach sprays do nearly all the work for you! Try it, you will be amazed at the results.

Use Large Tubs for Toys

Of course, the kids love to play with their toys. It’s the putting away part that’s not nearly as fun. Make clean up a snap with large tubs or toy chests for all the toys. Finding all the individual boxes for each game and toy is difficult and also takes up lots of room. A cute decorated tub or chest is the perfect spot to neatly store all the toys. You can even make separate ones for different types of toys or for each child so the kids can find them more readily. Cleanup will be fast and convenient for everyone.
