The kids can help create them and even share the recipes with their teachers and friends at school or daycare. Let the fun and yumminess begin!

Strawberry Shortcake Sundae

A strawberry shortcake is a delight on its own – just imagine how luscious it would be as part of a sundae! Here’s how to make a serving of this frozen treat with your choice of vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt:

Chop 4 fresh strawberries and set aside. Cut a slice of pound cake or angel food cake into 1 inch cubes and set aside as well. Angel food cake is much lower in fat and calories for those watching their waistline. Grab an ice cream bowl and layer the bottom with the cake followed by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Top with the chopped strawberries and drizzle strawberry sauce over top. Add a dollop of whipped cream and dig in!

Chocolate Decadence Sundae

For the chocoholics in your life, this sundae will be the best thing they’ve ever had. Use your choice of chocolate ice cream, frozen yogurt, or even a rich gelato. Here’s how to create this chocolate lover’s ice cream dream:

Scoop one serving of chocolate ice cream into a sundae dish. Top with crushed chocolate wafer cookies and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. Drizzle chocolate sauce or hot fudge on top and follow with a dollop of whipped cream. Finally, top with a spoonful of chocolate sprinkles and a chocolate kiss at the very top. This treat will satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth!

Apple Pie Sundae

If you love apple pie a la mode, you will adore this apple pie sundae. It’s much easier to make than a real apple pie but even more delicious! Here’s how to make one:

Cover the bottom of your bowl with crushed graham crackers. Next, add a scoop of vanilla or caramel ice cream or frozen yogurt. Add ¼ cup of canned apple pie filling and top with a dollop of whipped cream. Now, drizzle with caramel sauce and add some chopped nuts if you like the added crunch. This isn’t Grandma’s apple pie but we are sure she’ll love it!
