These easy-to-create mini-pizzas are sure to please any palate with their unique toppings and flavors. The next time the kids want pizza, forget takeout… make pizzas in the kitchen together. Enjoy!
Very Veggie Pizza
Use a large round pita bread as the easy-to-top crust for all pizzas. White, whole wheat, herbed, or even gluten-free all taste equally delicious. Here’s how to top this all-veggie pizza:
Spread an even layer of marinara or pizza sauce all over one side of the pita. Sprinkle with a few dashes of oregano, basil, and ground pepper. Add thin slices of fresh zucchini, mushrooms, onion, and green pepper. Top with shredded low-fat mozzarella and goat cheese crumbles. Heat in the toaster oven or regular oven for about 15 minutes at 300 degrees. Remove, slice into quadrants, and serve. It’s so veggie good!
Totally Tomato Pie
Again, start with a pita round and spread a thin layer of tomato paste all over the bread. Sprinkle with grated parmesan and a few red chili pepper flakes. Layer sliced sundried tomatoes packed in oil over the sauce and roasted red peppers over the tomato. Sprinkle with Romano cheese and some fresh basil. Cook in the toaster oven or regular oven for 15 minutes at 300 degrees and serve. Tomato tastiness!
Sweet as Pie
How about something on the sweeter side? This pizza is even good for breakfast. Use a pita round as the crust and spread with an even layer of your favorite nut butter. Drizzle with a touch of honey or maple syrup. Top with slices of fruit such as plums, peaches, and grapes. Sprinkle with some cinnamon and nutmeg and serve. If you like it warm, pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Sweet and easy.
White Pizza
Start with the pita and spread a thick layer of ricotta cheese all over the bread. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic powder to taste. Top with shredded low-fat mozzarella, Swiss, and Monterey Jack and heat in the oven or toaster oven for 15 minutes at 300 degrees. Serve with some fresh basil and let the cheesiness ooze all over!
